What should I wear?
I understand how difficult it is to decide what to wear to an event in a different country and cultural background. And even for westerners dress codes at weddings are CONFUSING! SO let me help you feel confident in your outfit choice :)
One thing first: If you know that you will feel most comfortable and confident in traditional Moroccan clothes, I would be honoured, if you wore your caftans or takchitas. These garments are more formal than our wedding will be, but I do not want you to feel pressured to put on clothes that make you feel weird all day.
However, if you want the full "German Wedding Experience", I will break down clothing rules and the dress code at our wedding here.
The most important rule at western weddings is to absolutely AVOID wearing white. White and anything white-adjacient (e.g., beige, off-white, very light pastel colours, as well as patterns containing large amounts of white) is reserved for the bride on this day.
Another important rule for wedding guest attire is to not wear Jeans.
There are further "rules", which we are not picky about, but they are quite funny to mention. A female guest attending a wedding in a red dress signals that she has slept with the groom. A black dress supposedly signals sadness or discontent at the wedding.
Be aware that german buildings rarely have air conditioning, so, if El Nino continues its pattern of making early autumns in Nürnberg warmer than usual, you might want to stick to airier fabrics. However, early autumn evening CAN sometimes get quite chilly, so bringing a nice jacket to layer could be useful.

The dress code
Our wedding will be very small and the location is slightly rustic, therefore the dress code will be something between "semi-formal" and "cocktail". Further considerations for your outfit will be the time of day and the weather.
